DIRECTV charges no extra fees, even though every channel they offer is in high quality digital format. On the other hand, Cable TV service fees vary widely depending on where you live and which company you choose. The average service fee a month if you had Cable TV would be around eight dollars more than direct TV, as well as an eleven dollar fee would be added on for a limited amount of digital channels.

Another important fact to consider is that DIRECTV offers an enormous amount of high quality channels, 250 to be exact. In addition to their regular channels, DIRECTV offers 31 premium movie channels, 67 XM satellite radio channels, 60 pay-per view movie channels, 2 dozen international channels, and 10 different sports packages.
